Hello, and welcome to this issue of the Language Dispatch.

I have something a little different for you today. Salman Khan is a Bangladeshi American educator and founder of the Khan Academy, a free online education platform and nonprofit organization.

On the video Salman Khan speaks at TED talks for 20 minutes about his organisation.

Salman Khan encourages people from all walks of life and age groups to help educate people from other parts of their own country, or even other countries. This is all done via the Khan Academy website.

The educator can be a peer or a teacher. That is, a 10 year old child from the UK could teach a 10 year old child from the US or India or Australia about maths and science, or vice-versa. The potential is huge.

Do spend the time to watch the video. I hope you find it as fascinating as I did.
